Dr. Sun is a first-generation college student, Asian American scientist, and entrepreneur who immigrated from China and grew up in Las Vegas, NV. She is trained as a plant biologist and received her PhD in cellular, molecular, developmental biology from Stanford University and her BS in Biochemistry, cell biology from UC San Diego. She is passionate about using plants to help humanity by coupling phylogenetic and genomic studies to discover drivers of root morphology in diverse legumes. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering, baking, dancing, and being with friends!
